We’ve outlined everything happening during the holiday weekend so you won’t miss a thing and planning will be a breeze!

Annual New Year's Eve Tradition is Back!

This Labor Day weekend, Champlin’s New Year’s Eve event is back! Join us on Saturday, September 3rd from 10 PM to 1 AM at the dock bar, and watch the ball drop on another epic summer at Block Island. It’s a party you won’t want to miss and there will be plenty of mudslides for all, so mark your calendar and secure your room or slip at Champlin’s now!

Family Fun for All Ages

Join us on the lawn for an array of activities and lawn games for the whole family to enjoy. From bucket ball, putting-to-win, and chess to lawn bowling, frisbee toss and scrabble, the opportunities for fun are endless! Grab your crew and get ready for a day of classic tournaments at Champlin’s, before heading poolside to cool-off and enjoy the views.

Explore Block Island

Just because it’s September, doesn’t mean the summer weather is ending! Head out on your #ChamplinsChoice bike and explore the many beaches of Block Island’s pristine coastline. Learn more about all the beach options with our blog post: Champlin’s Block Island Beach Guide. All the festivities will continue when you return to Champlin’s, including live music, fire-pit sessions, and cocktail hour!

Beachcombing not your thing? No worries, as there are plenty of outdoor activities at your fingertips. From Champlin’s, you can explore the waterfront with our paddle boards or pedal boats when you purchase a Champlin’s Choice pass, or you can put your hiking boots on and adventure over to one of the best hikes on Block Island, like Clayhead Trail, Rodman’s Hollow Trail, or our personal favorite, the Mohegan Bluffs Trail. Each hike provides stunning views of the island and are accessible from Champlin’s by foot or bike!

For the best sight-seeing on the island, visit one of Block’s lighthouses! The North lighthouse offers stunning views of the Long Island Sound, and the Southeast lighthouse is one of the most visually iconic lighthouses in New England. Both are worth a visit if you are in search of breathtaking ocean views, and island history.

Block Island Dining Guide

It wouldn’t be Labor Day Weekend if you didn’t indulge in all the local New England fare Champlin’s has to offer. We have four dining options on site, bringing you fresh seafood, yummy sweet treats, world famous mudslides, and oceanfront views.

Join us at Café Boutique to fuel up for the day with numerous breakfast options, or grab a quick snack in between corn-hole games, or unwind at the end of the evening with a craft cocktail. Café Boutique is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and is also available for grab-n-go items, all your nautical necessities, and Champlin’s gear.

Craving something sweet? It wouldn’t be a Block Island summer vacation without an ice cream cone from Champlin’s Sugar Shack! Choose from a variety of flavors like vanilla raspberry swirl or sea-salt caramel, and indulge in special summer treats by the sea.

Sip-and-splash all day long with Champlin’s poolside bar! Relax in the salty air and drink a world famous Champlin’s mudslide or a Salt Pond painkiller, all while experiencing breathtaking views of Block Island’s famous Great Salt Pond.

At the end of the day, head over to the Galley House for a delicious dinner, featuring fresh and local New England ingredients. Choose from classics like New England clam chowder or house made lobster rolls while overlooking the Great Salt Pond at golden hour. Of course, our poolside cocktail menu is available too, where you can pick from a variety of cocktails to celebrate the end of summer.
