As the summer crowds begin to wind down, Block Island will soon transform into a quaint island getaway for the fall months. For the sun-worshipers: The water is still warm enough for swimming and finding your perfect spot on the sand won't be a problem. Make sure to soak up some Vitamin D while you still can, and head over to one of Block Island’s pristine beaches. After your fall beach day, head downtown and shop the charming Water Street, offering the island’s largest collection of local boutiques, art galleries, local souvenir shops, clothing stores, book shops, and more.
